Prix d’excellence
Every year during the Gala de l'excellence, the Regroupement des gens d’affaires de la Capitale nationale (RGA) is honoring local entrepreneurs as well as businesses that distinguished themselves the most on various important aspects:
Leadership, support to the community, innovation spirit, focus on the betterment of their business, of their services or their field of expertise.
A rigorous selection process chooses the Prix d'excellence laureates from among the finalists in the following categories:
Executive of the Year, Private Sector
This individual is a senior executive of a company, division or subsidiary where she or he is responsible for more than 10 employees.

Executive of the Year, Public Sector
This individual is a senior executive of a public organization or agency where she or he is responsible for more than 10 employees.

Business of the Year
A large private company that is not a division or subsidiary and that has 50 to 200 employees. The company must have been in business for at least two full years.

Small and Medium Enterprise of the Year
A small or medium business that is not a division or subsidiary and that has 11 to 49 employees. The company must have been in business for at least two full years.

Micro-Business of the Year
A private, independent micro-business that is not a division or subsidiary and that has 2 to 10 employees. The company must have been in business for at least two full years.

Self-Employed Person of the Year
An individual working on his/her own, who on the basis of an oral or written agreement with another individual, the client, agrees to do a particular job or provide a service for payment. A self-employed person works under his/her own or a legal name, through his/her own network, and has no employees. The individual must have been in business for at least two full years.

Entrepreneur of the Year
An individual using investment to own one or more active businesses making a top-rated product or delivering a quality service. The person runs or is part of the group that runs the business(es). The business(es) has/have a regional reach or impact.
And the Prix Coup de cœur, whose purpose is to spotlight a business or organization in the National Capital Region that stands out for the quality of its French-language services.
