Carole Gagnon, Director

Carole Gagnon is Senior Director of Capacity Building Strategies for United Way/Centraide Ottawa. Divisions led by Ms. Gagnon aim to increase community capacity from both a funder and community perspective to achieve maximum impact of funder dollars. The work is achieved by leveraging dollars from Corporate Sponsorship, targeted Major Donar Gifts, Government and Foundation Grants and United Way/Centraide Investment for Impact.
Prior to joining United Way/Centraide Ottawa, Ms Gagnon was an organizational development consultant, specializing in Change Management. She has worked for an international high technology corporation during the merging of two large renowned organizations – Newbridge & Alcatel. As a Change Management consultant, Ms. Gagnon partnered with leaders and Human Resources professionals to improve productivity and organizational effectiveness in times of major organizational changes.
Ms. Gagnon has worked in the corporate, business and the service sectors prior to joining the non-profit sector. Other positions held by Ms Gagnon include that of Training Specialist and Facilitator for Newbridge Networks where she oversaw several corporate initiatives -product training, technical training, and traveled to Asia to introduce the performance management program. She has also worked for several years in the retail furniture industry where she led the growth of one organization from one store to five stores; two franchises and one wholesale organization.
As a volunteer, Ms. Gagnon has been active in community building for several years. She was a Board member for the Good Companions Seniors Centre, Chair of the Britannia Community organization, and Chair of the City’s Seniors Advisory Committee.
