Ronald Caza, Outgoing President
Partner, Heenan Blaikie
Mr. Ronald F. Caza practices litigation in all areas of law. He is a partner and member of the National Management Committee at Heenan Blaikie, a law firm with over 440 lawyers across Canada.
From 1989 to 1998, Mr. Caza was a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa. From 1999 to 2005, he was responsible for the Francophone Civil Litigation component of the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admission Course.
Mr. Caza is past Chairman of the Board of several non-profit organizations such as the United Way/Centraide Ottawa, the Social Planning Council of Ottawa-Carleton and the Regroupement des gens d’affaires de la Capitale nationale. He presently chairs L’écho d’un peuple Inc.and Franco Biz Inc. He is also a former administrator of Hôpital Montfort.
Mr. Caza has been the recipient of several awards and recognitions, such as:
- Grandmaître Award (2000);
- Order of La Pléiade from the Assemblée parlementaire de la francophonie (2004);
- Order de la Francophonie de Prescott et Russell (2005);
- Richelieu International Medal (2006);
- Honorary diploma from Collège Boréal (2007); and
- Ambassador’s Award of Centraide/United Way of Ottawa (2008).
Mr. Caza was also inducted in the Honorary Society of Common Law of the University of Ottawa (2007) and recognized as one of the top 100 people having contributed in Canada’s history to the preservation and promotion of the French language and culture in Ontario (2007).
