Michel Brissette is a certified general accountant by training, CGA (1980). He has worked for the Société de transport de l’Outaouais for almost 31 years. The STO is a major regional partner, contributing to economic development with an annual budget of $73 million and employing over 600 people.
He has developed much of his professional experience through the different functions he has carried out within the STO over the years. Mr. Brissette started his career in the Finance Department, where he held various positions, such as bookkeeper, budget manager and, finally, Director of Finance. In September 1999, he was appointed Director of Operations. In 2007, a new position was created, and he became Assistant General Manager until he took office as General Manager in April 2008.
Mr. Brissette was also project manager for deployment of the smart card, a technology that has revolutionized the world of public transit, and he has distinguished himself through his involvement with different provincial committees.
In addition, Mr. Brissette has continued to develop his own professional capacities by taking part in many workshops and training courses. His hard work and determination have enabled him to take on senior positions while always remaining abreast of the latest developments in the constantly evolving field of public transit.
